If you want to camp on your approach or exit close to, but just outside the park, it’s hard to beat Tierra Del Sol. It's proximity to Big Bend is perfect. On the plus side it was very close to Big Bend and about 5-10 minutes from Terlingua. The only services are trash containers and a composting toilet.
Seriously you’re at like a 9. The park has 238 miles of multiuse trails (for hiking, biking and riding horses). It follows the Rio Grande which splits the USA and Mexico in west Texas and has some of the most spectacular rugged mountain scenery I have ever seen.
