They’re so easy to make, ready in less than 30 minutes and taste like a combination between a peanut butter cup and a rice krispie treat. It is all natural and good for you. Instead of adding maple syrup to the chocolate I would maybe use a sweeter chocolate (less than 85%). Feel free to use honey, brown rice syrup or coconut syrup instead of maple syrup. I have made so many and always get lots of compliments! I just made these with the following adjustments: I used rice malt syrup to make them sugar free and I substituted the peanut butter for homemade sunflower seed butter to make them a school friendly nut free treat. Microwave on high in 30 second intervals, stirring in-between, until chocolate is completely melted. Absolutely! And peanut butter. Definitely making again! I’m wondering if anyone has tried making these with agave nectar?

They are gluten free and naturally sweetened using honey. Thanks for the recipe . Feel free to use cashew, tahini, almond or sunflower butter in place of the peanut butter. I made these with almond butter. Highly recommend! Heat the honey, peanut butter, vanilla and salt in a pan over low heat until it all melts together. You’re right that traditional Rice Krispies cereal is not certified gluten free, which is why we indicate in the recipe to use crispy brown rice cereal. And also if I use 75%dark chocolate I guess I can use less maple syrup? We are a (partially) gluten free house and I’m always trying to find gluten free healthy food for my daughter to snack on and… I’ll be totally honest ….. it’s hard. These are amazing! I’ve added an additional note to be sure to double check the brand you’re using to make sure they are certified GF as well! Your additions/substitutions are terrific!
