Step 2: In the Appointment window, click the  button in the Reminder box on the Appointment (or Meeting) tab, and select the None from the drop down menu. I've tried the 'clean reminders' a couple times and it doesn't change it.

As such i keep constantly getting reminders and notifications from Outlook on overdue appointments, meetings and tasks which is kind of overwhelming. can see it is an old question but did you remember the space after the exe?
